KENNETH E. SMITH
PRESIDENT
The Management Team Ken Smith was born and raised in Warren, Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1984 from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Computer Systems, and immediately joined H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc. in the Pittsburgh office.

Ken started his career working as a Customer Service Representative in Maynard's Computer Services Division. In 1986 he moved into the Consulting Division. As a consultant, his work focused on productivity improvement through the application of traditional industrial engineering techniques. These techniques included development and maintenance of engineered labor standards, methods improvement, job evaluation, wage administration, maintenance management, wage incentives, and performance management. Ken provided consulting services to over 150 companies throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Sweden, France and the United Kingdom.

In 1995, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations and was elected to the Board of Directors. In 2001, Ken was elected President of Maynard. In this role, Ken is responsible for setting direction for the company, overseeing operations, and providing leadership development for all employees.

Ken is actively involved in a number of professional organizations including the Institute of Industrial Engineers, the Association of Manufacturing Excellence, the Pittsburgh Technology Council, the University of Pittsburgh Industrial Engineering Department Visiting Committee and the Grove City College Entrepreneurship Advisory Council. Ken recognizes the importance of leadership development and integrating real world experiences with classroom study, regularly participating in college classes as a representative of the real business world.

Ken is also active in a number of charitable organizations including the Coalition of Christian Outreach and Family Guidance, Inc. He serves on the boards of Jubilee Christian School and Christ Community Church of the South Hills.


EDWARD J. GILL
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
The Management Team Ed Gill was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He graduated in 1987 from Miami University (Ohio) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and immediately joined Procter and Gamble where he worked in sales and sales management. In 1992 Ed joined H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc.

Ed started his career with Maynard as Director of Business Development, working with clients to assess project opportunities and develop comprehensive consulting and software solutions to meet their needs. Typically these projects focused on productivity improvement through the application of traditional industrial engineering techniques. In 1993, Ed became responsible for software product sales and all corporate marketing. This entailed leading the group that sold Maynard’s new Windows-based software products, as well as coordinating the development and distribution of all marketing collateral for consulting, software, and training.

In 1995, Ed was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1996 Ed was elected to the Board of Directors of H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc. He was appointed to his current position, Executive Vice President, in 2001. As a member of the Board of Directors, Ed takes part in determining the strategic direction of the company.

As Executive Vice President, with responsibility for Sales & Marketing, he oversees the company’s marketing strategy, as well as leads the team responsible for selling Maynard’s consulting, software, and training solutions. Ed is also responsible for Maynard’s International Distributors, where he works to evaluate, select, train, and oversee the results of the Company’s partners throughout the world.

Ed is a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC), the American Marketing Association, and the American Management Association. He is also active in the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF).


DENIS J. MEINERT
CFO / VICE PRESIDENT
The Management Team Denis Meinert was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Grove City College in 1982. Upon graduation, Denis accepted a position with H.B. Maynard and Company, Inc.

Denis joined H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc. in 1982 to perform accounting, financial analysis and contract administration. He became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 1984 while at Maynard. In 1986, Denis became Maynard’s Controller. In 1987, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 1991, Denis was promoted to Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and was elected to the Board of Directors of H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc.

As Vice President & CFO, Denis directs the company’s financial planning, accounting, legal and human resources practices as well as relationships with its landlord, travel agency, lending institutions, stockholders, insurance vendors, outside accountants, and legal counsel. As a member of the Board of Directors, Denis takes part in determining the strategic direction of the company.

Denis is active in the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) and the Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC) Chief Financial Officer groups. He also is President of his local youth basketball league, coaches baseball, and is the retired Council President of his local municipality.


JOHN W. MINNICH
VICE PRESIDENT
The Management Team John Minnich was born and raised in Martinsville, New Jersey. He graduated in 1989 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Following graduation, John accepted a position with Levolor Corporation as a Corporate Industrial Engineer. In 1991 John joined H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc.

John began his career with Maynard as a Consultant, working to lead teams of client personnel in productivity improvement projects, both domestically and overseas; this encompassed various industries including fabrication, process, distribution, assembly, metalworking, service, retail, and transportation. These projects were focused in a variety of Industrial Engineering disciplines, predominantly methods improvement, development of engineered standards, work flow analysis, incentive system design and restructuring, and the implementation of lean operating practices.

In 1995, John joined the sales and marketing team as a Senior Account Manager, where he became responsible for providing prospective clients with consulting, software, and training based solutions to improve workforce performance and eliminate waste. In 1999, John was promoted to Business Development Manager. He continued to work directly with clients, as well as assisted in the development of Maynard’s sales team and its processes.

In 2001, John was promoted to his current Vice President position and elected to the Board of Directors of H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc. As Vice President, he provides leadership to the sales team, and continues to work directly with selected clients. As a member of the Board of Directors, John takes part in determining the strategic direction of the company.

John was recently asked to join the Advisory Board for Virginia Tech's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and is active in the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and the Pittsburgh Technology Council (PTC).
