MaxiMOST® CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
TRAINING COURSE

COURSE SUMMARY: This five-day interactive training course will teach you how to apply the MaxiMOST® work measurement system to measure long-cycle, non-repetitive, non-identical assembly, machining or maintenance activities.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: (by the end of this course you will be able to)

  • Calculate the time that a task or set of tasks should take to be performed.
  • Apply predetermined time values to activities from memory or from a data card according to the rules of MaxiMOST.
  • Observe operator activities and write accurate method descriptions.
  • Analyze work on the basis of moving objects using the MaxiMOST system.
  • Identify activities within three sequence models: Part Handling, Tool Use, and Machine Handling.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Anyone interested in learning an efficient and widely accepted work measurement system.

KEY COURSE CONTENT:

Understand the foundation of work measurement

  • Learn why measuring work is important to an organization.
  • Learn about the history of work measurement from time study to MOST®.
Learn the three sequence models used in MaxiMOST
  • Part Handling – for the movement of objects to a general or specific location.
  • Tool Use – for the use of common hand tools or equipment.
  • Machine Handling – for the analysis of manual operations associated with manipulating machine controls.
  • Apply the sequence models in practice and video examples.
    Use the StandardsPro® software
  • Learn how to use the software to measure work more quickly.

BENEFITS TO YOUR ORGANIZATION WHEN YOU TAKE THIS COURSE:

  • Enables you to analyze any type of manual work with one of the most efficient and widely used work measurement techniques for long-cycle activities.
  • Can accommodate the wide cycle-to-cycle variations that are typical in such work as setups or heavy assembly.
  • Provides you with a tool that is ‘method sensitive’ where the outcome of the analysis provides cues as to where there are opportunities for saving time, money and energy.
  • Eliminates the subjectivity involved in performance rating an activity since the MOST® technique is based on a 100% pace.
  • Gives you a work measurement tool that is well accepted by employees, unions and management.
