PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Maynard’s University MOST Program provides students with the opportunity to learn the MOST® Work Measurement Technique and an exposure to the system software tool. This program enhances your industrial engineering curriculum with lecture and computer lab materials. Instructor training and instructional materials are provided free
of charge.
THE UNIVERSITY MOST PROGRAM PROVIDES:
Instructional material that is comprehensive, yet modularized to allow for flexibility in delivery. Each module consists of a 20 to 60-minute lecture supported by a PowerPoint presentation. A software lab is designed for a 1.5-3 hour hands-on experience. These modules include:
- Introduction to MOST
- General Move
- Controlled Move
- Tool Use
- Introduction to the Software
- LAB: Instructor Demonstration and Analysis Exercises
A kit of instructional materials that includes:
- Instructor’s Manual
- Student Coursebook
- Student Lab Guide
- PowerPoint CD
- Software lab demonstration instructions
- BasicMOST data card
- BasicMOST Analysis form
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT:
The University MOST Program is offered to any accredited educational institution with an Industrial Engineering curriculum. Instructional materials and software are provided free of charge. The course instructor must successfully complete the MOST® Certification Program prior to receiving the program materials.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Representatives from an accredited educational institution who want to give students exposure to a widely-accepted, real world solution for efficient work measurement.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
(by the end of this course, the student* will be able to)
- Understand how to analyze work using the BasicMOST system. This revolutionary PMTS measures work on the basis of moving objects not individual body motions.
- Identify activities in terms of the three basic sequence models for manual work: General Move, Controlled Move and Tool Use.
- Practice analyzing work activities using BasicMOST. Applying time values to parameters of the sequence models and calculating time values for ‘normal time’ for a task.
- Use the software to complete a MOST analysis. Save the analysis as a sub-operation and input descriptive information for data retrieval purposes.
*Note: Students will not be certified users of BasicMOST upon completion of this program. Certification in BasicMOST requires completion of a 40 hour course through H. B. Maynard and Company, Inc.
